- increases understanding of the economic, cultural, political and environmental influences which shape our lives
- develops the skills, attitudes and values which enable people to work together to bring about change and take control of their own lives
- works towards achieving a more just and sustainable world in which power and resources are more equitably shared

American Secondary Schools for International Students and Teachers (ASSIST)To promote mutual understanding, cultural interchange and a more peaceful world, ASSIST provides opportunities for outstanding international students to attend the finest American independent secondary schools on one-year scholarships, and for students and teachers from these schools to engage in educational experiences abroad. ASSIST was founded in 1969 by Paul Sanderson, a visionary American educator who was a faculty member and leader at Suffield Academy (CT). Beginning with an initial class of 13 German students, ASSIST has now expanded its mission worldwide and has placed more than 4,300 scholars from 50 countries at American independent secondary schools.

Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA)Representing international schools on the continent of Africa, AISA has a membership of schools which range in size from 20 to 3,600 students. Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia (AISWA)AISWA was established in 1962 as a nonprofit organization to support, represent, and promote the interests of Independent Schools. AISWA is incorporated under the Industrial Relations Act. AISWA's constituent members include almost 150 Independent Schools, including those of two Independent School systems.
